Reverend Ryan David Wendt is the first son of Curtis and Elenita Wendt and was born to them in 1974 in Kansas City, Missouri; his baptismal birthday is September 6th, 1974. He has two younger brothers and a younger sister. His mother is a retired Lutheran grade school teacher; his father owns and operates an automotive repair shop near their home in Gladstone, Missouri.
Pastor Wendt is a life-long Lutheran who was baptized, confirmed, married, and ordained at his home congregation – Holy Cross in Kansas City. He graduated from Kansas City Lutheran H.S. in 1992; from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska in 1998; and Concordia Theological Seminary in 2004.
He has taught at Lutheran High School in Rockford, Illinois; been the Headmaster and Associate Pastor at Zion Lutheran Church and School in Kearney, Nebraska; and was installed as Pastor at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Billings, Montana on June 11th, 2006. Pastor Wendt also serves as the 2nd Vice President of the Montana District.
Pastor Wendt was married to Sara (Jaschen) in August of 1998. The Lord has blessed them with four children to raise, Samuel, Elizabeth, Lydia, and Rachel, six others are with the Lord.
Samuel Curtis is so named because he is a tremendous blessing that was “asked of the Lord.” He shares his middle name with his grandpa Curtis Wendt. He was baptized on October 23rd, 2005.
Elizabeth Ann means “Oath of God;” she shares her middle name with both of her grandmothers. She was baptized on December 30th, 2007.
Lydia Elaine is named after one of the early believers in the NT and was noted as a seller of purple cloth; she shares her middle name with her mother. She was baptized on April 18th, 2010.
Rachel Sophia means a “ewe” (lamb), and Sophia means “wisdom”. She is a precious lamb of God, baptized into Christ on May 19th, 2013.
